| I do not double dip in the wax. What is double dipping? Double dipping is when a waxologist uses the same waxing utensil over and over. In other words he or she dips the utensil in the wax and applies to an area on your body and then re dips that same utensil in the wax again and applies wax on another area of your body. No big deal right? Wrong! Say that waxologist had ten clients before you and he or she used that same utensil on them, everything that the utensil picked up from their bodies went into the wax, dead skin cells, hair, maybe even blood and it all went into the wax, multiply that ten times and you get a disgusting brew of skin garbage from many people in the wax being spread on you. So here is an example: you come in for a brazilian, Grandma comes in right after you for a lip wax...same stick....you get the picture. Gross, isn't it? I do not double dip. There are some who believe waxing is like nail polish. When a nail tech applies the polish to the nail the brush is not touching that nail. The brush goes back into the vial of polish. Most nail techs now, will sell the client that nail polish as a precautionary measure just in case there is nail fungus or some other nail disorder that can be spread from client to client. I use disposable spatulas, one application of wax on the body then the applicator gets thrown away and fresh one is used. Another disgusting habit of some waxologists is reusing hard wax. Hard wax is used for sensitive areas, bikinis, Brazilians, underarms etc. It is like candle wax, it hardens but is pliable. Hard wax is called by many no strip wax. What some do, and I find this disgusting, is once the wax is applied to the body and removed, the wax is thrown back into the pot to re-melt along with the hair and dead skin cells and whatever came off the body. When the wax pot gets too hairy they strain the wax. Be careful of places that double dip and/or reuse the wax. |
