Is there anyone who should not get waxed?

NO WAXING
if you are taking blood thinners, generics of accutane, retinols, or have a
sunburn. You need to be off accutane for 6 months before you can be waxed, even
for eyebrows and lips.  If you are prone to fever blisters, lip waxing may cause a flare
up.  If you have herpes, waxing the genitals may cause a flare up. Ask your doctor if
you're not sure about any medication you take before getting waxed.

How long does the hair need to be?

Hair need to be about a quarter of an inch long.  Don't worry if it's too long, I'll trim if
needed.

What is the difference between a bikini and a brazilian?

A bikini wax is just the bikini line, no soft tissue.  Generally, about 1/2 inch in on the
sides and about 1 inch down from the top of bikinis.

A brazilian is ALL hair, front and back.  You can leave hair where you want for
instance, a "V" or landing strip.  Yes, men get brazilians, too.

How bad does it hurt?

It all depends on you.  Some people have a high pain tolerance, some don't.  Some
areas of the body are more sensitive than others and there will be more discomfort in
those areas.  Generally this will be upper lip, ankles, underarms, genitals.
Should I take pain killers?

Topically, lidocaine is the only thing I know that works.  I have tried, to the best of my
knowledge to try out all the over the counter products.  The only one that works and I
recommend is Bare Ease.  Everyone of my clients that have used it says it works.  It,
of course, if the most expensive one on the market!  I carry it in the doctors office
and you can order it online.  FYI, the directions say put it on 30 minutes before your
appointment, but I am told 45 minutes to an hour is more accurate.

Drugs and/or alcohol, you ask?  I am not a doctor, so I can't tell you to take
anything, but I have been told that taking an aleve or advil helps with pain and
swelling you may have with waxing.  Prescription meds, be careful about driving if you
take those.  Remember, no blood thinners.  Ask your doctor if you're not sure about
any medication you take before getting waxed.  Alcohol---it's a blood thinner.  Pot,
also not a good idea.  I hear it helps you chill out, but it does make the nerve
endings more sensitive.
